Psychodiary — zásady ochrany súkromia
Zhrnutie
Psychodiary nezbiera o tebe žiadne dáta. Neexistuje žiadny server autora, do ktorého by čokoľvek tieklo.
- Súbory nie sú šifrované „at rest".
(e-mail, disk, chat) si vyberáš ty a odvtedy podlieha podmienkam danej služby.
Obyčajný .json export nie je šifrovaný; zaobchádzaj s ním
opatrne.
2. Voliteľné automatické zálohy do Google Drive
Nákup a overenie cez Google Play Billing
Aplikácia ponúka jeden jednorazový nákup — odomknutie automatických záloh do Google Drive. Samotnú platbu spracúva výhradne Google podľa vlastných podmienok a zásad ochrany súkromia.
Autor aplikácie nevidí čísla platobných kariet ani iné platobné údaje o tebe priamo — tie spracúva a uchováva výhradne Google.
Mimo tohto, overenia nákupu a voliteľných záloh do Drive appka sama neiniciuje žiadnu ďalšiu sieťovú komunikáciu.

Psychodiary — Privacy Policy
Summary
Psychodiary collects no data about you. There is no developer-operated server for anything to flow to. The app contains no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no crash reporting. Everything you write stays on your device unless you yourself decide otherwise.
What the app processes, and where it is stored
You enter content that can be deeply personal — journal entries, mood, sleep, training, notes, attitudes and warning signals (Compass), and HRV readings. This is stored locally, in the app's private storage on your device, as JSON files.
- No other app can reach that storage — the Android sandbox protects it.
- The files are not encrypted at rest. Someone with a rooted, unlocked device or access to a device backup could in principle read them. The optional PIN (hashed with Argon2id) and biometric unlock protect access through the app, not the files themselves.
- Android system backup (Auto Backup and device-to-device transfer) is disabled for this app, so an unencrypted journal never reaches the cloud behind your back.
- The developer has no access to your entries — none, under any circumstances.
When data leaves the device
What you write in the journal — entries, HRV, Compass — leaves the device only when you tell it to, in exactly two ways. (The app also talks to Google on its own to verify the purchase; that has nothing to do with your journal — see below.)
1. Manual export
From Settings you can export the archive as plain .json or as
encrypted .psyenc (AES-GCM-256, key derived from your passphrase
with Argon2id). The system share sheet hands the file over — where it goes
(mail, drive, chat) is your choice, and from then on that service's terms
apply. A plain .json export is not encrypted; handle it with
care.
2. Optional automatic backups to Google Drive
If you turn this on:
- You sign in with your own Google account. The app requests only the
drive.appdatascope — a hidden, app-owned folder. The app cannot see the rest of your Drive. - The backup is encrypted on the device before upload, with a key derived from your backup passphrase. Google — or anyone else — sees only an unreadable blob.
- Nobody but you knows that passphrase and it cannot be recovered. Lose it and the backup is permanently unreadable. That is by design.
- The backup sits in your Google account, not the developer's. Google's handling of it is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
The app also checks whether a network connection exists (so it can tell you that a backup is waiting for connectivity) and can open an external link in your browser.
Purchase and verification via Google Play Billing
The app offers one one-time purchase — unlocking automatic backups to Google Drive. The payment itself is handled entirely by Google, under its own terms and privacy policy. The app stores only the fact that the feature is unlocked — locally, in the device's encrypted system storage (the Android Keystore), not the same file as your journal — and checks with Google at every launch that the purchase still stands. This check runs regardless of whether you have automatic backups turned on or have ever paid at all, and for every install, including ones where the feature is free (early adopters, a testing period).
The developer does not directly see your card numbers or other payment details — Google handles and stores those. The app itself only asks Google whether the purchase is still valid (yes/no); it does not obtain or store anything else about you as a buyer. Whatever the developer may see about a transaction as the seller in Google Play Console is determined entirely by Google, under its own rules for developers — not something this specific app requests or collects on its own.
The Google Play Billing library itself (part of the app, not code its developer wrote) also sends its own operational telemetry to Google about how the library is functioning — this is inherent to how the library works, happens automatically just by using it, and the app has no visibility into or control over it. Other than this, the purchase check, and optional Drive backups, the app does not initiate any other network activity.
No ads, no tracking, no developer accounts
- No advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting SDKs.
- No advertising identifiers, no profiling, no notifications.
- No sign-up — the app has no user accounts with the developer.
- No data shared with third parties. The only third party involved at all is Google — through Google Play Billing for the purchase and its verification (above), and through Google Drive whenever you yourself use a Drive-related feature (turning on automatic backups, restoring from Drive, or verifying access there).
How to delete your data
- Local data: Settings → wipe data, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes the entire private storage.
- Drive backup: the in-app wipe can delete the backup file from your Drive as part of the same action. Alternatively, revoke the app's access in your Google Account settings.
- Exports: files you sent somewhere yourself must be deleted there — the developer has no knowledge of them.
- Purchase record: stays with Google, as with any Google Play purchase; the app itself does not delete it. Wiping data in the app asks Google again whether the purchase still stands and resets its own state from that answer.
Children
The app is not directed to children and is not targeted at them.
Your rights (GDPR)
The developer processes none of your personal data — it is never received and never accessible — and is therefore not a controller of it under the GDPR. The data in the app is under your sole control: access, portability and erasure are all performed directly in the app (export, wipe). For Drive backups, Google acts as the processor and you exercise your rights through your Google account; for the Google Play Billing purchase, Google is the controller of the payment data in its own right, not on the developer's behalf.
